Cable Man

Laying new internet cables for Camp Sambel – apparently people have been stealing the good cable that goes to the venue, as such it had been replaced with various lengths of cheap cable joined together in an ad hoc fashion, resulting in a not very great connection. Hopefully this should fix the problem.

Association for Progressive Communications Membership Transferred to EngageMedia

Andrew Garton, apc.au’s co-founder describes “… the work of EngageMedia
as encapsulating the goals and ambitions of a new generation of online
media activists, maturing on the groundwork of people such as
ourselves (apc.au) and our learned and respected colleagues throughout APC”.

“The transition, or transference is a
natural one. It’s a necessary evolution to create space and opportunity for fresh minds to grow
from where we took our first steps.”

APC members use information communication technologies to empower and support organisations, social movements and individuals to build communities and strengthen initiatives for the purpose of making meaningful contributions to equitable human development, social and gender justice, participatory political processes and environmental sustainability.
